Reading and Literacy Impairments

Vero Beach speech-language pathologist Dr. Julianne Freiwald has been helping patients who have reading or literacy impairments for over 35 years.

These include the sensory cognitive process of phonemic awareness, the sensory cognitive process of symbol imagery and the sensory cognitive process of concept imagery. This incorporates the foundation for sounding out words, recognizing them in correct letter form and comprehending what was read. This is a well-known, scientifically sound, research-based approach. Instead of being curriculum-based, it is founded on process-based instruction, making it unique.
